Nature Play Programming

Nature Play Programming

Looking for more nature inspired programming for your Pre-Junior and Junior Guide Unit?

Girl Guides have partnered with Centennial Parklands to bring you 8 weeks of engaging nature programming you can deliver to your Pre-Junior and Junior Guide Units.

Playing outdoors in natural environments provides children with opportunities to use their minds and bodies, freedom and imagination, often without adult intervention. Children experience new ways to connect with each other and with their surroundings. Connecting to nature teaches children to face challenges, solve problems, and build self−esteem.

Centennial Parklands has been running nature play programs since 2012. The 8 week program is aimed to give Unit Leaders tools to deliver new fun and creative activities in Pre-Junior and Junior Guide Units which will create a close relation between children and the natural environment through free play, storytelling, mapping, tracking, survival skills and bushcraft.
