How to Register a Unit for an Event or Course on the Girl Guides Website

Think about who you are taking to the event you are registering for. If there are girls coming up to your Unit or transferring from another location, ensure that they are linked to your Unit before registering them by contacting the Girl Guides NSW, ACT & NT Member Services Team by phone (1300 447 548) or email or by filling out the Youth Member Changes form  or the Adult Member Changes form.

Non-Member Adult Helpers need to be registered as an Ongoing Volunteer to attend most events by filling out the Ongoing Volunteer form


Warning Do not fill out the Ongoing Volunteer Form if logged-in to My GuideBook already. Doing so may overwrite all your contact details in our database and prevent you from registering your Unit!

  1. Log onto the Girl Guides NSW, ACT & NT website with your Username and Password 
    • Do not create a new account if you are already a Member or already have a log on as an Ongoing or Casual Volunteer. 
    • If you forget your Log on details or need help, please call the Girl Guide NSW, ACT & NT Member Services Team on 1300 447 548 and they will be able to unlock your account.  
  2. Select the tab What’s On 
  3. Click on either Event List or Courses List 
    • Depending on what you are registering for. 
    • Scroll through the page and navigate through the drop-down arrows next to each month to find the Event or Course that you are looking for. 
  4. Once you have found the Event or Course you are looking for click or tap on the Register tab for that Event or Course. 
    • You will be directed into the specific Event or Course page which will have all the information required. 
  5. To register click on the blue Register Myself button. 
    • This tab will not be visible if the Event or Course is not yet open for registrations. 
    • Your page will refresh to show the registration questions required to be answered for this Event or Course. 
  6. First select the correct Registration Option for yourself 
  7. Make sure you answer EVERY question and then click or tap the Save Responses button 
  8. Once you have saved your responses, the same tab will change to Update Responses 
    • This will confirm that the registration details have been saved 
    • It may take a moment for this to happen 
      Note: Some events or courses will have program/itinerary items that will need to be completed to finalise your registration. 
    • Click on the Add button and follow the instructions and/or questions in the program/itinerary section. 
    • Make sure to click on Save Responses in this area to proceed. 
  9. To register another member from you Unit scroll back to the top of the page and click or tap Register Someone Else. 
  10. Make sure that Select an existing contact is selected. 
  11. Click in the box to see a dropdown list of all the people attached to your Unit. Select the person that you would like to register. 
    • If you do not see the person from your Unit in the drop-down box do not select Add a new contact as this will create a new record number for that person. Contact Member Services to find out why you can’t see the person you are trying to register by email or phone (1300 447 548). 
    • Non-Member Adult Helpers need to be registered as Ongoing Volunteers, and must register as a Non-Member Volunteer  using a computer (the form is not mobile friendly). 
  12. If you have selected the member to register repeat steps 6 & 8 for each additional person you are registering.
    • If you have more members to register repeat steps 9 to 14. 
  13. Once you have saved your responses, scroll down the page and click on Proceed to Checkout. 
  14. Make sure that you update all registrants': 
    • Addresses 
    • Medical Information 
    • Emergency Contact 
    • Cultural Information 
      1. If you need to make any edits to any of the information that is on that screen click on the little pencil icon in the top right corner of that section. 
      2. To add another Emergency Contact, click on the + icon. 
  15. Once all information has been updated click on Proceed to Payment at the bottom of the page. You will be directed to your Shopping Cart. 
  16. To finalise and pay for the Event or Course click on Proceed & Submit. 
    • Your page will refresh to Order Confirmation. 
    • Make sure you have enough funds on the card that you are using to pay for the Event or Course. 
    • Enter either your Visa or Mastercard details. 
  17. Once all your payment details are entered click or tap Proceed and Submit 
    • Give it a moment for payment to go through. 
  18. If registration is successful you will then receive an order confirmation to your email address that is on your file. 
    • Do not delete this order confirmation. 
    • If registration was not successful: 
    • Make sure that you have enough funds on the card being used. 
    • Make sure that all questions were answered. 
    • Make sure that all personal information is up to date. 
  19. After you have registered for an Event or Course you will receive more information after the Event or Course registrations have closed.
