Queen's Guide Award

The Queen’s Guide Award provides Girl Guides with an opportunity for extraordinary personal development and greater self-awareness. The Queen’s Guide Award is recognised in the education system around Australia and some Universities throughout NSW will consider the meritorious value of the Queen’s Guide Award when applying to study.

Assessment & Presentation Dates

Work will be assessed by the Youth Awards Coordinator at the end of each month for the work received that month. The final submission date is 30 June each year for presentation at Government House later (September - November) that year. For more information please email the Youth Awards Coordinator on [email protected].
The Queen’s Guide Award syllabus can be found on the GGA website: https://www.girlguides.org.au/resources/queens-guide-award/

The Queen’s Guide Award booklet provides valuable information to support girls, Leaders, and parents.

Please note: the Queen’s Guide Award syllabus (and Gold Endeavour) as detailed in AIM HIGH is NO longer current for new Queen’s Guide Award candidates.

What does this mean for those who want to start their Queen’s Guide Award and those who are already working on their Queen’s Guide Award?
Guides commencing the Queen’s Guide Award in 2023
From February 2023, all Girl Guides choosing to complete the Queen’s Guide Award, must start on the syllabus released in 2023.  The Queen’s Guide Award booklet (which contains the syllabus for the Gold Endeavour Award and Queen’s Guide Award) provides information to support girls on their Queen’s Guide journey. Additional information will be provided to girls when they register for their Queen’s Guide Award.

Girl Guides working on the Aim High Queen’s Guide Award syllabus
Girl Guides currently working on the Aim High version of the Queen’s Guide Award may continue to work on the Aim High version.  Leaders are asked to review where their Guides are in relation to the version of the Queen’s Guide Award they are working on and support them to make the decision to either transfer to the NEW version released in 2023, or remain on the version that has been commenced and follows the syllabus specified in Aim High. If questions arise, girls and Leaders are encouraged to reach out to the Youth Awards Coordinator.
