Girl Guides NSW, ACT & NT is committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our members. All State face to face training courses have been postponed out of caution for current public health concerns.

Outdoor Leader Qualification

 

Is a two-day course for members who are interested in becoming an Outdoor Leader, and have never run a Unit or District.

Note: This is not the Camp Leader course.

When:

Sunday 8:30am - 3:30pm

Accommodation:

Saturday night accommodation is available for an additional $10 and can be selected upon registration.

This Course Covers:

- Preparing a Risk Assessment for outdoor activities
- Event planning & budgeting
- Traditional Skills including:
- Knots and lashing
- Flags and colours
- Gadgets and construction
- Fires and cooking
- Trails and bushcraft
- Compasses and mapping
- Survival in the outdoors
- Caring for the environment

We will look into the Outdoor Leader position description, the Outdoor Leadership Qualification Passport and what is involved to gain the qualification.

This course runs concurrently to the Leadership Qualification course. Participants will join with participants from the Leadership Qualification course for some common topics.

You must be a current Member of Girl Guides NSW & ACT in good financial standing to attend. Please make sure your membership is current before registering and have your membership number available to sign up online.

Registrations close: 5pm Monday 28 September. Unless course is filled prior to this date.

Once you have registered you will receive more information regarding the training via email

No name changes, refunds or transfers after Monday 28 September.

All refund requests must be submitted via email to courses@girlguides-nswact.org.au and will only be processed under extenuating circumstances.

In some cases, a transfer to the next available equivalent course in the calendar year may be considered. To request a transfer after the registration close date please email courses@girlguides-nswact.org.au.

There are no name changes or refunds after registration close date.

Under certain circumstance, within the Courses Department, a transfer rather than a refund may be considered. Transfers will be to the next available equivalent course in the calendar year.

REFUNDS
All refunds must be requests via email. Refunds are not offered after the registration close date. However, refunds will be considered after the registration close date under extenuating circumstances (e.g. medical emergency or death in the family).

CANCELLATIONS
In the event of an Event or Course cancellation. Attendees will be refunded in the case or events and or refunded or offered a transfer in the case of a course. However, in the event of the cancellation of a fundraising event, ticket price will be refunded minus the amount of the donation included.
