Centenary 

The centenary of Girl Guides in NSW marks a significant milestone for Girl Guides NSW, ACT & NT. We have a century of experience in supporting young girls become the women of tomorrow. And whilst the world has changed, the need to support young girls helping them realise their potential—has not.

Girl Guides NSW, ACT & NT will be celebrating the centenary of Girl Guides in NSW by looking to the future, with the theme empowering future women underscoring our commitment to shaping the leaders of tomorrow 

Join us in Centenary Celebrations of this significant milestone by participating in the many events, programs and fundraising campaigns launching from May 2020 through May 2021. 

PROGRAMS 

Two very special Centenary Program ideas for the girls to start working towards have been prepared for addition to Term 2 Guides@Home programs. These Program items will contribute to broader Centenary Celebrations with more information to be announced in May at the Association’s AGM. 


GirlMade (Centenary Edition) 

The GirlMade Project showcases the diverse creative and artistic talents of the girls and women of Girl Guides NSW ACT & NT. Typically held biennially, in 2020 we are launching a GirlMade – Centenary Edition to celebrate the centenary of Girl Guides in NSW by looking to the future, with the theme empowering future women underscoring our commitment to shaping the leaders of tomorrow. The GirlMade Project is open to all current Girl Guides NSW ACT & NT Girl Guides and Adult Members 5–105+

GirlMade Silent Auction and Virtual Event

Girl Guides NSW, ACT & NT is selling these amazing pieces in an online silent auction 20 November - 22 November. Each artwork starts at a minimum bid of $15. Proceeds from this auction go to support Girl Guides NSW, ACT & NT in empowering future women for the next 100 years. 

After the auction closes on Sunday 22 November at 1pm, join us for a virtual event celebrating GirlMade Centenary Edition. The event runs 2 - 4:30pm and includes a fun filled program including silent auction announcements, an online art activity, guest speakers, and afternoon tea.

A Letter To My Future Self 

Reading a letter you’ve written to yourself in the past, makes you appreciate how far you’ve come. A Letter to My Future Self showcases the accomplishments and character of the girls and women of Girl Guides NSW ACT & NT. This project is a chance to reflect on your achievements and your personal growth. Share what you’ve loved and learned from your Guiding experience and how you believe Guiding will contribute to your future. A Letter to My Future Self project is open to all Guides and Adult Members 5–105+ that are active financial Members of Girl Guides NSW ACT & NT.
Who: All members age 5 - 105+
When: Start anytime. Online submissions will be accepted between 23 May and 5 October 2020

Several very special Centenary events will be hosted throughout the year for our girls, young women, and leaders help join in the celebration. These events will contribute to broader Centenary Celebrations with a combination of both virtual and in person events*.
*Please note in person events are subject to change based on the government guidelines and duty of care are surrounding COVID-19.

REGISTRATION & REFUND POLICY EVENTS:
Unless specified otherwise, you must be a current and active Member of Girl Guides NSW, ACT & NT to attend. Membership must be current before registering. Adult Members, Ongoing Volunteers, and event participants over the age of 18 (or 16 if local jurisdiction requires) must be CSCF compliant  to attend or their ticket to attend will be cancelled and a refund will be issued.
For large in-person events, registrations close 3 weeks prior to event date, unless sold out prior (or unless specified in event information).
There are no name changes or refunds after registration close date.
  
REFUNDS
All refunds must be requested via email. Refunds are not offered after the registration close date.

CANCELLATIONS
If an event is cancelled, registrants will be refunded. However, in the event of the cancellation of a fundraising event, ticket price will be refunded minus the amount of the donation included. If a course is cancelled attendees will be offered a transfer to another instance of the same course.
