Celebration of the Ranger Centenary 1923 - 2023

Celebrating 100 incredible years of NSW Rangers! This monumental Centenary Event, hosted by Girl Guides, is not just a celebration – it's an invitation to step into history and explore the rich heritage of our beloved Rangers!

Special time capsule opening!

A time capsule was buried at Glengarry after Camp Kara Kara Yaki. This Australia-wide Ranger Gathering was held at Glengarry in 1973 to celebrate 50 years of Rangering. Although some were present at this gathering, they have no idea of the contents of the capsule. It is now at South Turramurra Guide Hall.
In 1993, Camp Waminda Moot - for NSW Rangers - was held at Glengarry. A Committee member and her daughter organised the Ranger history part of the event to help celebrate 70 years of Rangering in NSW. Karen-Lee Henry was Ranger Advisor at this time and collected items for this second capsule. These items were placed in the capsule and also buried at Glengarry after Sue Tickell became Ranger Consultant. These are currently stored safely.

It is our understanding that both Time Capsules were to be opened in 2023 - the Centenary of Rangering in NSW. We hope you can join us for this momentous occasion!
