World Thinking Day 2025
Did you know that since 1926, the 22nd of February has been celebrated as World Thinking Day and the International Day of Friendship? It's also the shared birthday of Lord and Lady Olave Baden-Powell, the founders of the Girl Guides and Girl Scouts Movements!
For many, you will already know what this important day means, or what we do, but for some, it might not be as clear. Put simply, World Thinking Day is:
- The declared day of celebration for Girl Guides and Girl Scouts
- An opportunity to be thankful for the thriving Girl Guide community that worldwide, is doing incredible things to advocate for a better and brighter future
- A chance to connect with our worldwide sisterhood
- Historically, it's an opportunity to take action on global issues that affect our local communities
- A day to make a difference by fundraising for important projects around the world.
Every year, World Thinking Day carries an important theme, and this year it's...
'Our Story'
This theme is a chance to be curious and creative, to form meaningful connections with our sisters in Guiding and Girl Scouting and beyond. But most importantly, this theme encourages us to reflect on the symbolism and values of WAGGGS and to explore what it means and has meant to be a Girl Guide over the years.
The 2025 Activity Pack is filled with tons of engaging activities, thought-starters and creative ways to deep dive into 'Our Story' – no matter your age!
