Are They Really OK? Ask Them Today!

R U OK?Day—Thursday 9 September— is a National Day of Action where Australians are educated and encouraged that every day is the day to ask, “are you OK?” if someone in their world is struggling with life’s ups and downs.

A harm prevention charity, R U OK? encourages people to stay connected and have conversations that can help others through difficult times in their lives.

R U OK?’s work focuses on building the motivation, confidence and skills of the help-giver— the person who can have a meaningful conversation with someone who is struggling with life.
The charity encourages and empowers people to invest more time in their personal relationships and to be alert to those around them, to have a meaningful conversation and, if needed, connect someone to appropriate support, long before they’re in crisis.

Heading to the RUOK? website, ruok.org.au, gives any visitor insight, tools, tips, and tricks that empowers them to become a help-giver and make a difference to those who may need it.

Girl Guides NSW, ACT & NT has resources available for Leaders and Managers to further develop their Mental Health Awareness toolbox.
