Success at Riverstone Festival

15 MAY 2021

The Riverstone Guides and Junior Guides experienced a day to remember at the Riverstone Festival on Saturday 15 May, coming in with first place in the Best Group Display. Members of the Blacktown council voted to award the Guides with this great achievement. The parade allowed the girls to proudly showcase the great community spirit here at Girl Guides.

The girls marched through, with the new van following behind them, a great asset to the Girl Guides community. The local MP, Kevin Conolly, was also there to witness the van. This was also the first time Riverstone members were able to see the van as a result of the 2019 grant we received for growing Girl Guides in the area!

The girls enjoyed a day of activities and entertainment, with food and market stalls, stage performers, rides and workshops. The street parade included local community groups, car clubs and marching bands. Riverstone Girl Guides reopened in 2019, so it was great that they were able to be involved in this community event.

Girl Guides NSW, ACT & NT would like to thank Riverstone Festival for allowing us to take place in their beautiful day.
