eGuiding Modernises Girl Guides Qualification Training

13 January 2020

Today, 13 January 2020, is a big day for eGuiding. Today, blended learning is introduced to the Girl Guides Australian Learning & Qualification Program (ALQP).

Girl Guides is transitioning to a blended learning model.  Components of the ALQP will be delivered online through eGuiding. From today, qualification as a Unit Leader is now achievable by following your path at your pace through a combination of online eGuiding modules  and a one-day face-to-face session. The first of these face-to-face sessions will be 15 February 2020 at Girl Guides NSW, ACT & NT's State Training and Outdoor Centre, Glengarry, in North Turramurra on Sydney's leafy upper north shore. For a full list of upcoming courses, go to girlguides-nswactnt.org.au/courses.

What do I need to know?

  • From today Adult Members can view and request enrolment into the eGuiding ALQP courses online via eGuiding!
  • Guide House, the office of Girl Guides NSW, ACT & NT will check prerequisites have been met and advise of enrolment status
  • From today Adult Members will also be able to register for one of the new one-day face-to-face training sessions via the courses page of our website
  • From today Adult Members will be able to view the dates and locations of the face-to-face Leader Qualification training courses via eGuiding and the State website courses page. Registration for these course may only be completed through the courses page, the same way Members currently register for all face-to-face courses
  • All eGuiding modules must be completed one-week before the face-to-face ALQP session or within 3 months of enrolment if completing a face-to-face session later in the year

Adult Members of Girl Guides should already have access to eGuiding. Members login with their Girl Guides Membership Number and the password set when first logging in. If you're not sure that you have access or have questions, please email [email protected].

Over time, more of our qualification pathways will transition to blended learning. In the meantime, there are many non-ALQP courses available on eGuiding that you can use to familiarise yourself with the platform and develop universal skills.

Watch Girl Guides Social Media and Members can watch their email inboxes for more eGuiding information.
