Girl Guides Bunnings Fundraiser Barbeques Update

25 January 2022

As we approach the start of Term 1, Units will begin to book in Bunnings BBQ fundraising dates for the year ahead. Bunnings stores across Australia have introduced some changes to the operations of their Fundraise BBQ's to ensure they are COVID-19 Safe.

COVID-19 Safe Procedures
Community groups undertaking fundraising activities at Bunnings will be required to meet a number of requirements including physical distancing, cleaning standards, QR code scanning and face masks. Detailed guidelines will be provided by the store each time a group applies for the opportunity to fundraise.

QR Codes
With respect to QR code scanning, Bunnings is the location of the activity so the Girl Guides can refer customers to check in via Bunnings QR code, they will not need a separate QR Code.

Vaccination  Requirements
With  respect  to  vaccination  requirements,  currently (as of December 2021), community volunteers operating the Bunnings sausage sizzle are required to be fully vaccinated in VIC, QLD, WA and NT. This is subject to change according to government guidelines.

Further Questions
To  discuss  any  further  questions  regarding the  operations  of Bunnings BBQ’s, SGGO’s/Managers/Leaders are  encouraged to get in touch with your local store and arrange a discussion with the Activities Organiser, who will be happy to further assist at the time of booking.
