Juliette Low Seminar 2024 Participants Announced

Since 1932, the World Association of Girl Guides & Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) have been providing an inter-cultural, inspirational and international experience named the Juliette Low Seminar (JLS). It builds friendships across borders and helps young women step outside of their comfort zones.

Why Juliette Low?
The seminar is named after the trail blazing founder of the Girl Scouts of USA who was inspired by the work of Baden-Powell with Girlguiding UK.

JLS is all about empowering participants with the leadership practices and mindsets they need to succeed. The event is WAGGGS' flagship leadership development programme for members of Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting aged between 18-30.

The following Members of Guiding in Australia have been selected to attend JLS 2024:

Ashleigh Hansen - NSW
Isabella Metcalfe - NSW
Claire Davis - TAS
Zoe De Paola - VIC
Kimberley Randall - QLD

Girl Guides NSW, ACT & NT extends its congratulations to all participants, with a special recognition of Ashleigh Hansen and Isabella Metcalfe, representing our State Girl Guides Organisation at the seminar.

Over the next three months these JLS participants will complete e-learnings and virtual Patrol meetings. They will then commence their 100 Girls Projects in which they will share the skills they develop and their experience with at least 100 girls in their local communities. Participants will also attend an in-person event at one of the World Centres (Nuestra Cubaña, Kusafiri, or Sangam) and the closing party in December.
