Be inspired by leading female scientists! 

August 2023

Come and visit the Garvan Institute for Science Week 2023 to be inspired by leading female scientists. Bring a friend for maximum impact!

What

Come & hear female early-career scientists from the Garvan Institute speak about how their career journey and along with your Unit, ask them the questions you're eager to know! 

When

Wednesday, August 16 2023, 4-5.30pm

Where

Garvin Institute of Medical Research, 384 Victoria Street, Darlinghurst


What the afternoon will look like: 

4pm - Girls arrive and settle into Garvan's speaking hall 
4:15pm – Event starts at the speaking hall
The talks will be facilitated by the Sydney Comedy School in partnership
with the female Scientists to ensure they are engaging and fun for the girls
4:45pm – Q&A session between the girls and speakers
5pm – Show and tell where the girls go to a few tables just outside the
hall and ‘see’ or interact with scientists/scientific equipment
5:20pm – Girls start to leave in groups


What you need to do

Discuss this world-class opportunity with your Senior Guide Unit NOW if you want your girls to attend. If the girls are keen, and you can’t make it, consider linking up with others in your District/Region to give your girls the opportunity to go!

Delivered by the Sydney Comedy School's female trainers, this workshop offers an engaging way to build girls' confidence and have fun (comedy style)!
