World Thinking Day 2024
Since 1926, the 22nd of February has been celebrated as World Thinking Day and the International Day of Friendship. It’s also the shared birthday of Lord and Lady Olave Baden-Powell, the founders of the Girl Guides and Scouts movements!
Every year, Girl Guides and Scouts around the world find cool and creative ways to celebrate our incredible Guiding movement. Some might get together with their Unit or Patrol for a fun activity or fundraiser, while others might connect with their whole Region for a weekend filled with adventure, storytelling and sleeping under the stars.

Our World, Our Thriving Future
The World Thinking Day 2024 theme: ‘Our World, Our Thriving Future’ will take all Girl Guides and their Leaders on a journey to explore critical global issues through the lens of environmental sustainability, gender equality, peace, and poverty.
It’s the final instalment to a three-year journey to empower Girl Guides as environmentally conscious leaders. The 2024 Activity Pack is packed with tons of engaging activities, thought-starters and creative ways to deep dive into the topic of sustainability – no matter your age!
And don’t forget! Your efforts in completing the Activity Pack could earn you the 2024 World Thinking Day badge! Ask your Leader about earning this badge at your next Unit meeting.
