Many people in our community are currently celebrating different religious holidays, providing a time for remembrance and reflection. These holidays are a chance to celebrate the diversity of our community with our different customs and traditions. They are also an opportunity to encourage community cohesion and connection, uniting us around the values of peace, resilience, and togetherness.
Whether you are part of a faith or not, I hope the recent extra-long weekend has provided each of you some time for family and space to fill your cup. For many, the school holidays continue, providing a shift in gears for Guiding before our Units come roaring back for an exciting Term 2.
I hope everyone is safe. |

UPDATE: Youth & Adult Enquiry Form |
|
A new enquiry form has been activated! The new enquiry form, now operating through JotForm, takes enquiries via our website and the JoinGuides.com.au Linktr.ee profile.
Why a new enquiry form? Our analytics show mobile device use/traffic has risen to almost four (4) times that of desktop! This tells us our user/customer experience needs to be device friendly and super responsive.
From 1 Jan to 28 Feb, we received more than 2200 visits to our JoinGuides.com.au web address. 428 of these were from a desktop device, around 1700 were from a mobile or tablet. This new form accommodates all enquiries, no matter what device is used.
The new form is a temporary measure to be accessible to newcomers on devices while we develop a process to handle enquiries through the database that is responsive. Next on our list is to have the Join Process made mobile friendly!
What you, as a Leader or Manager, need to action: nothing! The team in Guide House will continue to direct enquiries to where they need to be directed. |

Have your say on Australia's roadmap to gender equality! |
|
Public consultation is now open to achieve gender equality nationally. The Australian Government want to hear from people, including you, and have released a discussion paper and survey to inform development of the National Strategy to Achieve Gender Equality.
This consultation allows people to tell the Government what matters to them, in their own voice.

Olave Baden-Powell Society |
|
Did you know the Olave Baden-Powell Society exists to support WAGGGS to help create an equal world where all girls can thrive? Yes!
OB-PS have done some incredible work supporting girls overcome barriers like gender-based violence and low body confidence by providing essential programmes, leadership development and advocacy training which help them to speak out, make decisions and take on leadership roles. The opportunities provided to girls by OB-PS are evident across the globe and right at home, specifically following Laura Ives Hicks' appointment as Assistant Chief Commissioner (Young Women) – bravo, Laura!
You can be involved with the OB-PS in a number of ways. Check out their types of membership in the link below. |
