Fundamental:
Patrol System & Practical
The Patrol is to do a Scavenger Hunt based on the Guide Laws.
Materials Needed
A copy of the Guide Laws
Pen
Paper
Instructions
Read through the Guide Laws.
Collect things around your house that you feel relate best to the Guide Laws.
As a Patrol, decide which items are the best choices and why, and then share your selection with the Unit.
As a Girl Guide, How Can I Lead This Activity?
Ask members to gather things first with a 10-minute limit
Join back together and discuss what is missing
Gather final items and present to the Unit
As a Unit Leader, How Can I Make This Activity Girl Led?
Discuss the Guide Laws first, giving suggestions of things that may be relative
Eg: a recycling bag – make choices for a better world
As a Unit, how can we make sure everyone is included?
Allocate a minimum of 1 Law to each person
Give each person a chance to make suggestions
Follow Up Questions and Reflections
What can we do differently next time?
What other activities could you do with your new skills?
How did it make you feel?
What did you like or dislike?
What did you learn?
