Women on Target

The NSW Rifle Association has extended an invitation to Girl Guides NSW, ACT & NT for Members to participate in a NSW Government, Department of Sport funded initiative that invites women aged 14–28 from Regional & City based NSW areas to learn Target Rifle Shooting at the Rifle Association’s Malabar Rifle Range, NSW.

The event— ‘Women on Target’—will be conducted over the weekend of 28 – 29 October and will offer both a 1 day & 2 day course for Women to try Rifle Shooting. The two-day course will deliver coaching and mentoring from experienced shooters, exposure to every discipline of the sport, their firearms safety training certification and the chance to develop leadership and presentation skills. The grant is part of the ‘Her Sport, Her Way’ campaign, which supports projects that value and recognize women in sport while fostering a welcoming and inclusive culture. Aimed at giving Women more confidence and ability on a Rifle Range, the program is designed to introduce Women to the sport of Shooting, a new Social Set, and gaining new skills.
