18 Nov 2022 | To all Adult Members, Trefoil, Junior Leaders, YAC |

There are so many wonderful celebrations occurring right across our organisation and many of us have been involved in marking special occasions, promoting Girl Guides in different ways, and raising the profile of our movement.
In ACT, the Governor-General hosted an Open House at Government House in Canberra last weekend. Girl Guides were out in force showcasing the wonderful community contributions we make and the ongoing place we continue to have in the ACT & SE NSW Region. Thanks to the Volunteers who lent a hand to make this possible!

Also last week, I was delighted to join Marrickville District in Cumberland Plains Region who celebrated their 100 years. A local historian told the story of Marrickville Guiding and the amazing journey this part of our Guiding community has been on. We reflected on the ongoing legacy of Girl Guides, and while the world looks very different today, our resolute focus, purpose and values remain the same guiding light driving us forward – a call for gender equality, equity and justice, and to empower girls and young women.

I recently delivered a presentation at the AGM of the National Scout and Guide Fellowship Australia, an association comprising of Scout and Guiding Guilds and promoting friendship and ongoing connection. You can learn more about this Fellowship here and the contributions our Trefoil Guild Members make to the objectives of this group.
As we reflect on our history, our heritage and traditions, we look toward our future knowing our path is clear and bright because of the shining contributions of our people – you! Thank you for continuing to model our values and live our Promise & Law in your interactions with one another. Each of us are keepers of the Guiding flame.
Every time I get put on my Uniform and pin my Promise Badge, I silently repeat my Promise and reflect on the way I continue to hold it true. I hope you might take time of the next fortnight to reflect on your commitment to the Promise & Law and our Guiding culture.

Have you started planning for 2023 yet?
It’s been so wonderful to see so many indoor, outdoor, expedition camps and Adventure-based activities happening over the past few months (with the weather being a little nicer to most!)
A reminder that many outdoor personnel from Region Teams (I.e Region Outdoor Activity Consultants) as well as myself as Outdoor Lead will be attending ‘Kani-Karrung’ Jamboree in Ballarat from 15–21 January 2023.
To make sure your camp or adventurous activity is approved in time, please consider forms need to be summitted at least 1 month in advance, if not earlier. Start thinking about your January and February activities now!
