06 May 2022 | Member Number: {#party.PartyId} | {#party.Name} | To all Adult Members, Trefoil, Junior Leaders & YAC |
Dear {#party.Informal},
To those who represented our community at ANZAC Day marches and parades across NSW, ACT & NT - of which there were dozens! - well done.
Your dedication today is certainly ensuring girls and young women continue to carry the tradition of paying respects to those who served well into the future.
May is Mental Health Awareness Month! Just like if you had a sore knee, we need to tend to our mental health and emotional wellbeing with care and compassion. This month, why not focus on practicing more self-care? You could make a commitment to move your body more, to eat fresher foods, or to spend more time connecting with family and friends or resting (rest is important and most certainly a good use of your time).

New Resource Alert: Junior Leader Challenge |
We are pleased to launch to Junior Leader Challenge! This is a state-specific resource document designed to support Junior Leaders at the start of their Junior Leader journey.
It was created in response to requests from our Youth Members and in consultation with the Youth Advisory Committee when a gap was identified around the need to better support and engage Junior Leaders.
Did you know there is almost double the number of Junior Leaders in our SGGO than Senior Guides undertaking their Queen’s Guide Award?
While many Junior Leaders will undertake the Leadership Trefoil 3, many do not, and our Youth Members told us we could do more to provide support, especially for newer Junior Leaders.
The Junior Leader Challenge is a creative resource weaving in the WAGGGS Leadership Mindsets to encourage Junior Leaders in their leadership practice. It also provides practical requirements. While the resource is designed for new/incoming Junior Leaders, its suitable for any Junior Leader to challenge themselves.
Help us monitor and evaluate the resource!
Get in contact with Natalie Lane, Leadership Lead at [email protected]
Let us know if/when your Junior Leader will start the Junior Leader Challenge, and any feedback during and after the challenge. Junior Leaders can email Natalie as well.
Your feedback will inform a review of the resource at ~6 months. |

GGA Child Safe Child Friendly - Adult Member Requirements
National Police Checks & eGuiding Child Safe Training Modules
Adult Members will notice some new agreements and declarations when completing their membership fee renewal this year. This is in line with the Child Safe Child Friendly (CSCF) Framework.
Adult Members will need to complete the new online e-Guiding Child Safety Training Modules and provide a National Police Check. These items will be due as follows for existing Adult Members: |
- Log in to e-Guiding and complete your CSCF Training Modules. You have been automatically enrolled in either one or both Modules depending on your role. Each Module takes approximately 30 minutes. If you can complete your modules by the end of June 2022, that is ideal. However, there is time allowed for completion as follows:
- CHCF for Leaders and Mangers – All Leaders and Managers to complete by 30 June 2022
- CHCF for Adults in Guiding Module – All Adult Members to complete by 31 Dec 2022
If you haven’t completed these already you will have received an enrollment notification from eGuiding recently. Click on the link in this email or go to the eGuiding login page here or via My Guidebook.
- Your National Police Check is due at the same time as your next Working with Children Check, Working with Vulnerable People Check or Ochre Card and then every five years. However, you can submit your National Police Check before then if you wish. You can apply for a new Check or, if you already have one that you obtained less than 6 months ago, you can submit this to [email protected].
- GG NSW, ACT & NT has arranged a special discounted rate for your National Police Check with Fit2Work when you are due to apply. Visit the NPC FAQs page on the website for further detail.
Keep an eye out for an additional email next week with further details and links.
Adhering to the Child Safe Child Friendly Framework is part of our commitment as a Child Safe Child Friendly community. Please prioritise completing the necessary eGuiding modules. |
