Service, an Australian Guide Program Fundamental

Other Topics

Girl Guides and Girl Scouts worldwide learn about the issues affecting their communities and are empowered to speak out and take action. The World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) supports girls and young women to develop their full potential as leaders and active citizens of the world. In Australia, we strive to empower girls and young women to grow into confident, self-respecting and responsible community members.

As a fundamental, Service, is instrumental in the realisation of these mission statements. Being active and impactive members of our local, national and global communities is a core tenant of Girl Guides, and has been from the very beginning. As a values based organisation, giving service is one of the best ways for us to create opportunities and situations for our girls to develop stronger and clearer values in their own lives.
